Home Kos Trial Transcript Questions for Bishop History About Us Bishop Grahmann Testified

5-26-05 Update: After a long illness, on 5-13-05 one of the leaders in the efforts to protect children in the Catholic Church, Claudette Allen, died. She has gone to her reward for her valiant work. You will find the work of her and her husband Cliff in many locations on these pages. Just send a prayer up her direction.  She is now in the best place possible to hear you.

7-27-04 update: Due to a multitude of factors including the ongoing refusal of Bishop Grahmann to respond to questions, the increasing evidence that the problems with the cover-up of the sexual abuse of children is much larger than the Dallas Diocese and can be traced to the Vatican, and the illness of members of our group, our group is no longer active.  This web site may be updated with news periodically. It will remain online as an archived source of information for some of the events that happened in the Dallas Catholic Diocese during the last decade of the 20th Century and the first decade of the 21st Century. The purpose is to help all people see the need to be vigilant for the protection of all children. Secrecy to protect child abusers should never be allowed again.

Please pray for our church leadership.

If any errors are noted on these web pages please notify me.

Sincerely,

Bill Betzen

This web site grew out of the involvement of about 20 Dallas area Catholics in working toward a statement of concern during the Bishops meeting in Dallas the summer of 2002. We remain very concerned about the actions of Catholic leadership in responding, or failing to respond, to the sexual abuse crisis, and the resulting credibility crisis within our Catholic Church. Management decisions within our own Dallas Diocese have continued to deteriorate in the 10 years since the Rudy Kos case first became public. We now gather under the title Coalition Supporting Bishop Grahmann's Resignation.  We invite other groups and individuals to join us in this sad task. Our Catholic Faith deserves no less.

On 6-26-03 another group of Catholics calling themselves The Committee of Concerned Catholics opened a new web site at www.concernedcatholics.com. It is a prayerful and powerful web site centered on a well written petition asking Bishop Grahmann to resign immediately. It is in both Spanish and English. They are now doing outreach to reach every Catholic in our diocese.  It is recommended that all go to www.concernedcatholics.com to sign this petition.

If you want to help spread the word about this petition you may download these hyperlinked Spanish and English versions of the petition and print them out.  Make copies and circulate them in your parish and among your Catholic friends.

We will continue our work on making public the history of decisions by Bishop Grahmann that sadly necessitate his resignation.

Your thoughts, opinions, and prayers are welcome.
